Acceptable Use Policy
What Callgentic agents, numbers and APIs must never be used for. It applies to every customer, white-label partner and their clients.
Why this exists
An AI agent that can place thousands of calls is useful and can also do harm at scale. These rules protect the people our agents talk to, our carriers and our customers. Breaking them can lead to suspension or termination under our Business Terms.
Calls and messages without permission
- Calling or texting anyone without the consent the law requires. AI-generated voices count as "artificial or prerecorded voice" under the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act. See our Calling Consent & Do-Not-Call Policy.
- Telemarketing to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry, a state list or your own do-not-call list, unless a legal exemption applies.
- Ignoring a request to stop calling or texting.
- Calling outside permitted hours, or more often than the law allows.
- Calling emergency lines, hospital or care-home patient lines, or numbers where the called party is charged for the call, without the legal right to do so.
Deception and impersonation
- Faking or hiding caller ID, or using a number you are not authorised to use.
- Impersonating a real person, a government body or another business, or cloning a person's voice without their written consent.
- Hiding that the caller is an AI when the law requires disclosure, or denying it when asked.
- Scams, phishing, fake prizes, fake debts, or collecting passwords, one-time codes or full card numbers by voice outside a secure flow we have agreed in writing.
Harmful or unlawful content
- Harassment, threats, intimidation, hate speech, or targeting people for who they are.
- Abusive or unlawful debt collection, including calls at times or in ways debt-collection laws forbid.
- Election calls that mislead voters about when, where or how to vote, or political robocalls without the required consent and disclosures.
- Sexual content, content involving minors, or marketing aimed at children.
- Selling or promoting illegal goods or services.
High-risk decisions
- Using an agent as the only route to emergency help.
- Letting an agent diagnose, prescribe, give legal advice or make credit, housing, employment or insurance decisions without qualified human review.
- Processing protected health information without a signed Business Associate Agreement.
The platform itself
- Breaking, overloading, probing or reverse-engineering our services, or getting around rate limits or safety controls.
- Sharing API keys or reselling the services without a white-label agreement.
- Sending malware, or using our services to attack anyone else's systems.
What we do about it
We may investigate, pause an agent or number, suspend an account, report unlawful activity to carriers or authorities, and cooperate with lawful requests. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem; where people or our network are at risk, we act first.
If an agent built on Callgentic called or texted you in a way that breaks these rules, email info@callgentic.com with the subject "Abuse", the number that called you and the date and time. We look into every report.
